Lexus Tire Size Calculator
IS, ES, NX, RX, GX, LX — look up OEM sizes, check staggered fitment, and confirm your AWD system stays within its safe range.
Quick Answer
Lexus IS 350 F-Sport runs staggered 245/40R18 (front) + 275/35R18 (rear) — both equal 25.72″ diameter (AWD-matched). ES 300h stock: 235/45R18 = 26.33″. NX 350h stock: 235/55R18 = 28.18″. RX 350 stock: 235/55R19 = 29.18″. IS/ES/NX/RX all share 5×114.3 bolt pattern; GX/LX use 6×139.7.
| Model / Trim | OEM Size | Diameter | Bolt / Offset |
|---|---|---|---|
| IS 350 F-Sport (front) | 245/40R18 | 25.72″ | 5×114.3 / +35mm |
| IS 350 F-Sport (rear) | 275/35R18 | 25.58″ | 5×114.3 / +35mm |
| ES 300h / ES 350 | 235/45R18 | 26.33″ | 5×114.3 / +45mm |
| NX 350h / NX 250 | 235/55R18 | 28.18″ | 5×114.3 / +45mm |
| RX 350 / RX 350h | 235/55R19 | 29.18″ | 5×114.3 / +45mm |
| GX 550 Base | 265/65R17 | 30.56″ | 6×139.7 / +20mm |
PHEV variants (NX 450h+, RX 450h+): stay within ±1% OD. Replace all four tires simultaneously.

How to Use This Calculator
- 1Select your Lexus model. Choose your model (IS, ES, NX, RX, GX, LX) from the OEM Lookup tab. All trims and stock tire sizes populate automatically.
- 2Pick your trim package. Select your trim (Base, F-Sport, Luxury, F-Sport Performance) — the calculator loads the exact OEM size including any factory staggered setup.
- 3Enter the replacement size. Type the new tire size you are considering in the format 245/40R19. The calculator compares diameter, speedometer error, and AWD verdict.
- 4Check the stagger guide. If you have a staggered IS 350 or RX 500h, the Stagger tab shows front and rear separately with the diameter gap between them.
- 5Read your AWD verdict. Standard AWD Lexus: stay within ±3%. PHEV hybrid AWD (NX 450h+, RX 450h+): stay within ±1%. The badge turns green when your proposed size is safe.
Lexus Tire Sizing — Model Guide
IS 350 staggered vs square — the rotation tradeoff. Factory staggered (245/40R18 F + 275/35R18 R) gives sharper rear traction but prevents front-to-rear rotation. Going square on 245/40R18 all-round restores rotation capability and extends tire life by 20–30% with regular rotations.
PHEV hybrid AWD tolerance is tighter at ±1%. The NX 450h+ and RX 450h+ use electric motors at the rear axle with software torque management. Even within the 1% window, Lexus recommends replacing all four tires simultaneously to avoid PHEV system fault codes.
GX and LX use a different bolt pattern. The GX 460/550 and LX 570/600 use 6×139.7 — the same as the Toyota 4Runner, Tacoma, and Land Cruiser. Wheels from IS/ES/NX/RX (5×114.3) will not fit without adapters.
Winter set downsizing is standard practice. Most Lexus IS owners downsize from 18″ to 17″ (225/45R17) for winter. The larger sidewall improves cold-weather compliance and reduces wheel damage risk. The smaller overall diameter on winter tires is fine for seasonal use — all four tires must match.
